So yesterday was the 2016 Presidential Debate. Everyone was all a buzz this morning about the state of the unions future. The political battle ensued and everyone stood on the side line of their chosen candidate. Watching the "show" yesterday left me feeling a bit disheartened. The smart quips, angry faces, back lash and irritation on both sides of the aisle made me ask, "Did either person wake up this morning happy?"
Though we are not all pressed with the possibility of sitting at the seat of running the Government, it doesn't mean we don't have our share of worries and issues.
- Will I get the job?
- Will I loose my job?
- Am I getting sick?
- Is my mother dying?
- Do I have cancer?
- Will the test be negative?
- Will I pass this exam?
The whys and wills inundate our brains and hearts and often prevent us from simply resting and understanding one thing: God is in control. Scripture says: Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34. That sums it up right? Why should I fret going to sleep and resting, and wake without feeling like everything is okay? If you really get that scripture in your spirit, you will let go of what may happen tomorrow and just relax and be in peace.
The future is not ours to worry about, it is ours to follow, a path that we should walk, but we do have the power to live life full of joy and happiness. Its a choice. If I could see the candidates I would tell them this: If you win, you win, if you loose, you loose. The only thing you need to know is that God has complete control of the outcome. So wipe that frown off your face!
