Spring Rain - Growing a life of endless possibilities

Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.. James 5:17-18

This summer we have had the chance to start our first garden.  What started as a few potted plants has bloomed into a full on farmers market potential!  I hear my hubby in the background as I try and run to Home Depot or Pike Nursery to pick up a few things, "You've got enough stuff growing!"  Well that doesn't stop me, no sir! I am fearlessly and wonderfully made for this journey!  So I dive in, nails first into the soil.

We had to take a quick trip back home to see family and I was so concerned about my seedlings and plants making it while I was gone.  So I checked the weather forecast - a three day rain projection.  Whew! As I sighed relief, we left for Chicago without a bit of worry.  God's got this!

It was well after midnight when we returned home, much too late for me to be fussing about in the garden, so I went to sleep and vowed to check on the plants the next day.  To my surprise my sweet corn was sprouting!

WHAT!! YES! Green thumb - check.

The beauty and the wonder of what God can do when you let Him be in control.  James 5:18 says, "Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.  Knowing that Jesus would take care of my garden with a three day rain storm was easy.  But what happens when God allows the rain to come in your life and you can't see the end? I say take stock in what the Bible is saying, pray and know God will hear your prayers.  You don't know what His plans are for you, what He is growing up and sprouting in your life.  Today,  I invite all the showers in my life.  Help me to grow and bud up with endless possibilities.

Grace.
